"Deep calleth unto Deep"

1 Samuel 1:13-15 KJV 13 Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken. 14 And Eli said unto her, How long wilt thou be drunken? put away thy wine from thee. 15 And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.

There is always a tendency to lax and relax when they do the same things over and over again. In life, there are moments where you must move out of the ordinary to invoke certain depths in the things you do or seek to achieve. In your ministry, career, work, and study refuse to continue in the ordinary path and same ways of doing things. Try launching deeper and see what will happen. Never do the same thing over and over again and expect different results.

There are moments when one needs to launch deeper in prayer and worship. Hannah is an example of such. She used to go yearly to Shiloh, but one day, she chose to pray differently. Her prayers were intense - even the priest thought she was drunk. She ultimately got God's attention, and He came down to address her issue. In Acts 1 and 2, the Apostles decided to launch deeper in fellowship with God as they waited for the "Promise of the Father," and indeed, they experienced something that was out of this world. The scene was never at any time experienced before. Even the people around who saw and heard them speaking with new tongues thought they were drunk.

When you engage in intense and deep moments, be ready to be misunderstood, discouraged, ridiculed. David experienced the same from Michal, his wife. However, keep your eyes focused on HIM whom you want to please (God) and who you want to attend to the issues of your life.

God must be our audience as we seek to launch deep. Pour out your heart and move out of the ordinary if you wish to experience the extraordinary...
