No Work No Eating

For even while we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either.

Greetings to you dear Worship Space family, I trust you are well and doing great. Some days back this scripture struck my heart and I thought to share something with you my dear family.

Paul reflects a concept called, "no work, no eating". We need to really understand that this concept has been reflected across the entire bible. It was work that Abel did that pleased God. Abraham had to walk a journey of thousand miles to get to a place where God promised and we hear the blessings that he enjoyed because of obedience. At one incident David vowed not to offer anything that didn't cost him anything. At one instance we are told that, "FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD".

2 Samuel 24:24: The king answered Araunah, “No, I insist on buying it from you for a price, for I will not offer to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.”

There are many who really enjoy receiving because there is no effort there. A few like to give and extend their hands and one would always seek to find places where they receive things for free. Some scammers have picked the heart of many (wanting to receive with minimal or no work). Many have lost fortunes by this excessive desire to receive things for free.

Why is it that people expect miracles to just happen without investing much time in His presence. God Himself spoke that "If you seek me, you will find me". God is everywhere but he will be most available and found to those who seek Him.

As worshippers we must also put some effort in developing our relationships, gifting, skills and abilities. Can you realise how long you have stayed on the same place in your career, business, ministry because of laxity to put more effort to your work. No work no eating. If you don't commit yourself to work and putting more effort you will just be as good as where you started.

Let's take Paul's encouragement positively and view it as one that is speaking to us to put more effort in everything we do to gain better results in life. Apostle Paul is giving a warning to those lazy ones who are not willing to put more effort must never enjoy any progress or good thing.

Imagine how our services will be only if everyone put more effort.

There are certain levels we will never reach if we are *not willing* to work and put more effort. Never do the same thing over and over again and expect different results. On your prayer times add a few more minutes, on offerings add a few more dollars, on singing put more effort to write new songs, push yourself to add more keys you can play on the guitar, go to school to learn, on relationships put more effort to remain in peace, on your business, put more effort to research on other new strategies. To achieve and accomplish your dreams and goals, develop a new skill, sleep a bit late to accomplish your plans.

The lepers indeed agreed; "..Why wait here until we die...". In other words they evaluated themselves and moved out of their comfort zone, made some movement and traction that attracted God. How may opportunities did you miss by fearing to take new strides? Indeed never run as one that beateth the air, make effort of one who wants to win a prize.

Dear worshiper, put more effort. To enjoy certain things of the kingdom, make up your mind to put more effort. Add more commitment to the work you are doing for God and see his blessing.

Have a blessed day
